This section answers the questions content managers and site administrators ask most frequently about SEO Forge. If you have a question not covered here, check the Troubleshooting section below or contact support at [email protected].
Do I need to configure anything for SEO Forge to work?
No. After activation, SEO Forge immediately begins scoring your content, generating meta tags, creating your XML sitemap, and outputting schema markup with sensible defaults. That said, spending five minutes on the Settings page — enabling auto-analyze, setting title templates, and uploading a default OG image — significantly improves your experience and ensures every page on your site is covered.
Can I use SEO Forge with other SEO plugins?
We strongly recommend using only one SEO plugin at a time. Running two (for example, SEO Forge alongside Yoast or Rank Math) can cause conflicts: duplicate meta tags, conflicting sitemaps, competing schema markup, and unpredictable behavior. SEO Forge suppresses the common frontend duplicate-output layers from Yoast description, robots, Open Graph, and Twitter output, plus All in One SEO, SEOPress, and Rank Math output, so migration periods are less fragile. Yoast’s title presenter can remain active because it reads SEO Forge’s resolved document title. Sitemap endpoints are not forcibly taken over during coexistence; Yoast, AIOSEO, or SEOPress may continue serving /sitemap_index.xml until the source plugin is disabled or its sitemap module is turned off. The clean long-term setup is still to import your data and deactivate the old SEO plugin.
Does SEO Forge slow down my site?
No. SEO Forge is designed for minimal front-end impact. Analysis runs when you save a post and results are cached in the database — nothing is recalculated when a visitor loads the page. Meta tags and schema markup are output as lightweight HTML. No extra JavaScript or CSS is added to the front end.
Do I need API keys for AI features?
No external API keys are required. All AI features (title generation, issue fixing, content optimization, content briefs, site audits) are powered by the Forge API. AI usage draws from your Forge account credit pool — no separate OpenAI, Google, or other accounts needed.
How many AI credits do I get?
AI credits work on a pay-as-you-go model. Plans are license-only — they do not include a recurring credit allowance. Your first-ever paid Forge purchase on an account (any product, any tier) grants a one-time welcome pack. The welcome pack is granted once per account ever and is not re-triggered by upgrades, renewals, or additional plugin licenses on the same account. When you need more, buy credit packs — see avakode.com/pricing for current pack sizes and prices. Packs never expire. Most SEO actions show their exact cost before running: meta generation starts at 1 credit, SEO analysis and suggestions use 2 credits, auto-insert links uses 3 credits, content briefs use 5 credits, and full site-audit summaries use 10 credits. Will SEO Forge work with my page builder?
Yes. SEO Forge works with Elementor, Beaver Builder, Divi, WPBakery, Oxygen, Bricks, and all other popular page builders. The SEO box appears in the WordPress editor sidebar regardless of which builder you use. SEO Forge analyzes the final rendered content of your page, so it accurately scores content built with any builder.
How long does it take to see results in Google?
SEO changes typically take 2 — 4 weeks to be reflected in Google search results. Some changes (like title updates on high-authority pages) may appear within days, while new pages on newer sites may take longer. SEO Forge helps you make the right optimizations — but the timeline for Google to process those changes is outside any plugin’s control.
Can I use SEO Forge on a multisite network?
Yes. SEO Forge can be activated on individual sites within a WordPress multisite network. Each site gets its own settings, scores, and data. Network-wide activation is supported. If you need to activate PRO across all sites, the Agency plan with unlimited sites is the best fit.
What happens to my data if I deactivate SEO Forge?
Your data remains in the database. Reactivating the plugin restores everything — scores, meta titles, descriptions, keywords, redirects, and settings. If you permanently delete the plugin (not just deactivate), you will be prompted about whether to keep or remove the data.
Does SEO Forge work with WooCommerce?
Yes. SEO Forge fully supports WooCommerce product pages, category pages, and shop archives. Product pages automatically receive Product schema markup with price, availability, and review data. You can set focus keywords, write SEO titles, and optimize product descriptions just like any other post type.
Can I export my SEO data if I switch to a different plugin?
Yes. Go to SEO Forge > Settings > Import/Export and click Export. This generates a file containing all your meta titles, descriptions, focus keywords, and redirect rules. While other plugins may not import this file directly, the data is in a standard format that can be converted.
Is SEO Forge compatible with caching plugins?
Yes. SEO Forge works with WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Rocket, and all major caching plugins. Since SEO Forge outputs meta tags and schema in the HTML head during page generation, caching plugins cache this output correctly. The only consideration: after changing an SEO title or description, clear your page cache so the updated version is served to visitors.
How do I know if SEO Forge is working correctly?
The quickest check: open any page on your site, right-click, and select “View Page Source.” Search for seo-forge — you should see meta tags and JSON-LD schema markup generated by the plugin. You can also check your sitemap at yoursite.com/sitemap_index.xml and verify it lists your content correctly.
> Good to know: If you are evaluating SEO Forge alongside other plugins, activate only one at a time. Deactivate the other before activating SEO Forge to avoid conflicts. Your data from the other plugin remains untouched and can be imported.
> Tip: Check the SEO Forge changelog (SEO Forge > Settings > About) after each plugin update to see new features and improvements. The plugin is actively developed with regular updates.
